With spring we all want news, freshness and, of course, gelato! Our winter break has been super productive: we chilled, found new ideas and special ingredients which we used to prepare lots of surprises for you. Our skilled gelato makers have tested the raw materials just arrived from Italy and have created new recipes perfect for spring.

Our Fulham store will be open 7/7 from 2.00 p.m to 9.00 p.m Monday to Friday, and from 12.00am to 9.00 pm Saturday and Sunday!! Unico is back with lots of new flavors made thinking about every single member of our big community. We don’t fear your intolerances, our gelato is made for everyone!!

If you’re vegan or lactose intolerant, at Unico’s you can choose among a huge selection of Gelato flavors. If you want something particular which is not mentioned in the menu, our experts will create a flavor custom-made (min. 3kg).

Unico gelato is always fresh. The Bolognese method is our religion, and we make efforts daily in order to offer a product 100% Italian in taste and texture. The laboratory will be active from 9 a.m to 5 p.m: the kingdom of our gelato makers. The opening of the Fulham store brings a lot of news!

Are you late? If you want to bring our gelato with you but you can’t stand in a queue, you can order it via phone or via email. Send us a message or call our store up to 30 minutes before and come to pick up your order. You will receive a e-mail confirmation when your order is ready: ring the bell and pick up your gelato. We want you to feel at home, so we cater for celiacs with our gluten-free range and are always happy to discuss allergens and other dietary requirements. Of course, we’re also always happy to accommodate you if you would like your focaccia with prosciutto, mortadella or salami or an extra portion of almond, soy or coconut milk for your tea – if it’s possible we’ll make it happen. We have a 60-year family history in the gelato business and only use authentic recipes, which we have tried and tested in our Bologna gelateria. Our gelato and coffee machines are, of course, Italy’s finest, so you know you’re getting the real deal.

Our ongoing research into natural products and our attention to our clients’ needs spurred us on to create an exclusive, unique vegan range that’s a culinary highlight in its own right. Gelato Making Experience – Be a Gelato Chef for your Birthday We’ve already given a shot to open our laboratory doors to show anyone interested how original gelato is really prepared in Bologna, and it worked fantastically. Recently, we decided to try a new chapter in the Gelato Making Experience called “Be a Gelato Chef for your birthday” and a little girl and her friends were the lucky ones to try it for the very first time.

The Birthday Chapter

Like an episode from a Food Network show, the kids were divided into 2 teams of 4 little gelato chefs, with their very own captains. The ‘commanders in chief’ were the birthday girl and her best friend. Among laughs and lots of smiles, the teams received a piece of paper containing a number of distinguished but original ingredients. Such as “Vanilla”, “Magic Potion” and other crazy items at their disposal for them to create the ultimate gelato. As the activity started, 2 kids had to get the ingredients and deliver them to the ‘Mixer Boy’, who was in charge of weighing and placing them all together. Afterward, they began to make their own gelato. Yet, before they could present it, they had to do what all gelato lovers would have done: they tried the sweet directly from the machine of course! When everything was finished they served the gelato and even decorate a vegan birthday gelato cake!. As part of the activity, the parents of the birthday girl, just as if they were regular customers, tried their kids’ creations. The day ended up with a victory dance to promote each team’s unique gelato.

The first Friday of October, for the International Smile Day – we filled the streets of Notting Hill (yes, from pubs to public areas), with delicious pieces of cake, freshly baked cookies, artisan soft gelato and, more importantly, lots and lots of smiles. Just by happily showing your teeth, or by wearing someone else’s smile, you could get that day a creamy, tasty stick of Bacio, Pistacchio, Cremino or a piece of a delicious Vegan Dark Chocolate & Strawberry Cake. As a family, we wanted to share a scoop of happiness with our lovely neighbors and to spread one of our main core values on that exceptional day: the joy as a way of living and the power of the smile. Let´s Pawty!

It is said that happiness is all about enjoying the simple things in life. Being with others who make you smile , doing things you love , listening to your heart and sharing something you enjoy with your loved ones. Other times, happiness might also come from daily experiences: as smelling a freshly poured espresso or having a tasty gelato. Even -if you’re a dog lover- the rubbing of your dog’s snout passing all over your face after a working day can be an effective happiness’ recovery therapy. Well, let me tell you that last Friday we did a lot of that at our Gelato + Dog lovers Pawty, where our four-legged friends were the protagonists of the gelato banquet. The Gelato + Dog lovers Pawty was a special event for gelato lovers from Notting Hill and its surroundings, but the truth is that anyone could assist. The experience was available for all ages you just needed to be a gelato lover. From 3.00 pm to 8:00 pm, we shared scoops of happiness with our neighbors that step by our Notting Hill store with their doggies, that also expressed their love for the handcrafted gelato.  

Our gelato chef prepared that morning a special artisanal tasty gelato for the doggy guests. Then, during the pawty, our four-legged-friends were welcomed with a party hat and their respective tasty gelato cup of one the two vegan flavors options: Fior di Latte (Vanilla) and Banana sorbet –  they loved it!. The party ended up being almost like a Tinder meeting for dogs sharing a delicious gelato among each other. Balloons, confetti, colourful hats… We happily decorated the Notting Hill store and try to set the most pleasant ambient for a feast. We had a great time were laughs, happy faces and mounds of our homemade delicious gelato filled the pawty. The idea was to share our culture, traditions, and passion with whoever loves this famous Italian dessert. There were from youngsters to adults accompanied by their babies and fluffy hairy relatives.

Elephants and Gelato.

The planet we live in right now is the only one we’ve got, and it’s not only ours. We share it with thousands and thousands of other living beings. As humans, we have the responsibility to protect them for generations to come, as many of them cannot do it by themselves. We wanted to get involved somehow and give our little grain of sand. Recently we met an amazing swimwear brand Love Brand & Co , which its core value since their beginnings has been their love towards elephants. They support different kind of initiatives and organizations to protect our big fellows. Without any doubt we wanted to be part of this and what a better way to do so than by unifying efforts to drive awareness around it organizing events and bringing new ideas to the table.     This past Thursday 30th was our first collaboration of many to come. We had a special time at their store, celebrating life and the wonderful weather we have had this summer in London. As authentic Italian Gelato lovers, for this event, we prepared a tasting of our two gourmet flavours; Cremino and Leonardo. Cremino is a delicious mix of Hazelnut infused with white chocolate Gelato while Leonardo is made from Peanut custard and toasted peanuts. Our Master Gelato Maker studied the combination of what peanut and the rest of the ingredients would taste like and the consistency. The end result was this unique creaminess and rich in delightful taste, it was named after Leonardo; who created this masterpiece years ago; but we just introduced to the market. Our stand was placed outside by the entrance, where the guests and everybody passing by had the opportunity to try them. The combination of these two flavours was a hit, people fell in love with it. Vegan guests were also there and got the chance to be delighted by the Mango sorbet and Vegan Dark Chocolate Gelato.     Drink Long Tail Mixer, and Aluna Coconut, attended as exclusive guests of the event, sharing their artisanal drinks alongside our Creamy Gelato. Unquestionably, Gelato and Cocktail made the perfect combo to have a pleasant, funny and delicious evening.

The Italian Aperitivo in Bromley is back. In our last three episodes of the Italian Aperitivo we had a blast, so we decided to keep it going and prepare two more events for this first summer season. In case you missed them or you want to live the experience again, next Friday, August 17th is the perfect chance to do it. Savour a variety of Authentic Italian Delicacies that are going to be prepared specially for these event by our bolognese chef, for you to taste them all; like our new appetiser on the menu, the BUBBLES, a panino with the shape of a bubble filled with deliciousness like ham & cheese, bolognese and more… Remember, it is all you can eat. We are so excited to tell you all about our newest partnership with “Not just Yoga”, an amazing brand that is disrupting the way we see and practice yoga by applying its principles to everyday life. “Collaborate & succeed” their motto, is about bringing together open-minded & positive people in amazing events with creative concepts for everyone to enjoy and connect while they get fit. For the first time, this Sunday 29th Yoga and Gelato are coming together at the Floating Garden in Paddington Basin. This will be a great experience filled with good vibes and amazing people, all ready to squeeze the max out of the opportunity. Two yoga/fit sessions will be held (10:30 am and 1:00 PM), followed by a champagne brunch, music and of course our authentic Italian gelato. Siamo arrivati a Milano!   Unico has traversed back through Europe to our home ground, Italy – this time in Milan! The new site will be opening in just a matter of weeks and we are just adding our final touches to this labour of love ❤️️   We hope our new shop in Milan will be up there with the Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele as a top place to visit If you’re ever in town, come visit us to experience the same great things you’ve been getting from us in London.
